A group of enthusiasts, known as “Kapličkáři” (Chapel-Menders), have successfully restored a dilapidated chapel near the village of Evaň in the Litoměřice region of the Czech Republic. The chapel had been condemned for demolition during the previous regime and had fallen into severe disrepair, becoming barely recognizable as a chapel in recent years. The restoration project, described by volunteers as a five-year marathon, has revitalized the structure. The project highlights community efforts to preserve local historical and religious sites. The chapel’s revival represents a restoration of both a building and a piece of local heritage. The successful completion demonstrates dedication to cultural preservation despite significant challenges.
