Czech ultracyclist Michal Ozogán recently completed the 1,000-kilometer Race Through Slovakia in 56 hours. Despite a strong performance, he finished just 12 minutes behind the winner. Ozogán described the Slovakian landscape as uniquely “authentic and wild,” contrasting it with his usual cycling environments. He notably completed the race without a sleeping bag, suggesting the conditions did not require one. The May race tested endurance cyclists over challenging terrain across Slovakia. Ozogán’s near-win highlights the growing popularity of ultracycling events in the region and the demanding nature of the Race Through Slovakia. He praised the experience despite not securing first place.
