Czech schools are increasingly establishing vegetable and fruit gardens, with students actively maintaining them even during summer breaks. These gardens provide hands-on learning experiences and promote sustainable practices. Surplus produce is incorporated into school lunches and snacks, enhancing nutritional value. The initiative fosters a connection between students and their food sources. However, securing funding for establishing new school gardens is becoming more difficult, potentially hindering the expansion of this beneficial program. This poses a threat to continued growth and the wider implementation of school-based food production.
