The Czech Republic experienced another day of extreme heat on Saturday, with temperature records falling at 59 out of 171 long-term monitoring stations. The highest temperature recorded was 36 degrees Celsius (96.8 Fahrenheit) in Šternberk, Olomouc Region. However, the Šternberk station has only been measuring temperatures for four years. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) reported the record-breaking temperatures. This follows a pattern of increasingly frequent heatwaves in the region. The data indicates a widespread surge in temperatures across the country. These new records contribute to growing concerns about the impact of climate change in Central Europe.
