Experts on public finance have warned President Petr Pavel that the Czech Republic’s public finances are not developing sustainably and the situation is serious. During a meeting at Pražský hrad (Prague Castle) on Wednesday, the specialists agreed that reversing the negative trend should be a priority. They cautioned that despite economic growth, the government is increasing the budget deficit, further compounded by rising costs associated with servicing the state debt. Experts emphasized the need for prompt action to prevent further deterioration of the fiscal situation in the Czech Republic. The discussion focused on the unsustainable trajectory of public spending and the potential repercussions for the national economy. Failure to address these concerns could lead to long-term economic instability, according to the advisors.
