The 30th anniversary presentation of the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival garnered significant attention, though overshadowed by a special guest: an Academy Award. Czech producers of the film “Mr. Nobody vs. Putin” brought the Oscar statue to the Vysočina region city. The appearance of the iconic award occurred during a preview event four months before the festival’s official start. While the festival’s jubilee and poster unveiling were noteworthy, the Oscar’s presence generated considerable excitement. The film itself focuses on the political climate surrounding Russian President Vladimir Putin. This visit marks a rare occasion for the Oscar to be displayed outside of major industry events and Los Angeles.
