A recent post featuring Czech President Petr Pavel donating blood, intended to encourage donations amid a long-term decline in donors, has been used to spread false information. The misinformation claims a maximum age of 45 for blood donors in the Czech Republic. This claim is untrue; there is no such presidential exception or age limit. The fact-checking initiative “Řetězáek” investigated the claims and confirmed the information is inaccurate. The original post exploited the President’s gesture to disseminate the false age restriction. Authorities have not yet commented on the spread of the misinformation.
