The Chamber of Deputies in the Czech Republic will continue its session on Wednesday, proceeding towards a vote of no confidence in the government of Andrej Babiš. The extraordinary session, and subsequent vote, was initiated by the opposition just days before upcoming municipal and Senate elections. Despite triggering the vote, the opposition currently lacks the necessary support to unseat the Babiš cabinet. They currently hold 92 seats out of the 200 total seats in Parliament. A minimum of 101 votes is required to successfully overthrow the government. Therefore, while the vote will proceed, the outcome is largely predetermined, with the Babiš government expected to survive the challenge.
