Czech beach volleyball duo Kateřina and Anna Pavelkovy reached the quarter-finals of the European Championship in Poland, achieving the best-ever result for a Czech team with a shared fifth-place finish. They were defeated by the favored Dutch pair Katja Stam and Raisa Schoon in straight sets, 13-21, 9-21. Fellow Czech team Markéta Svozilová and Marie-Sára Štochlová lost in the round of 16 to Spanish players Sofía Izuzquiza and Tania Moreno, finishing ninth overall. The Pavelkovy sisters’ performance marks a significant milestone for Czech beach volleyball. Despite the quarter-final loss, their fifth-place tie represents a new high for the nation in the competition. The tournament was held in Stare Jablonki, Poland.
