The Czech Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is seeking ten new Roma representatives to join the government council addressing Roma minority issues. This move follows a series of resignations earlier in June. The resignations included Lucie Fuková, the government’s commissioner for Roma affairs, and half of the council’s existing Roma members. These departures occurred after the Roma agenda was transferred from the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic to the Ministry of Labor. The Ministry hopes to rebuild the council with fresh representation. This recruitment effort aims to ensure continued attention to Roma concerns within the government. The Ministry is actively soliciting applicants to fill these important positions.
