The High Court in Olomouc overturned a previous verdict regarding the leaking of information from the Customs Administration to a liquor mafia. The appeal involved three defendants, including Radek Březina, the organizer of extensive illegal alcohol trading, and a state prosecutor. The court heard the case in a non-public hearing, as confirmed by court spokesperson Stanislav Cik. The original verdict, involving both conditional and unconditional sentences, was issued by the Zlín court last June. The High Court received the case for review in January of this year, leading to today’s decision to annul the prior ruling and potentially reopen the case. Further legal proceedings are anticipated.
