Czech Defense Minister Jaromír Zůna and Foreign Minister Petr Macinka have drafted a single proposed delegation list for the upcoming NATO summit in July, designating Prime Minister Andrej Babiš as the head of the delegation. The plan currently excludes President Petr Pavel from participation. Prime Minister Babiš declined to comment on the decision prior to a scheduled government meeting on Monday. President Pavel has expressed concern, questioning whether the cabinet intends to obstruct his constitutional right to represent the Czech Republic internationally. The core of the dispute centers on the President’s authority to represent the nation on the world stage. The government will formally discuss and decide on the delegation composition during its Monday session. This decision follows recent tensions between the President and the current administration.
