A new immersive puzzle game, “Unvanquished,” launched in Brno, Czech Republic, commemorates the lives of Blessed Jan Bula and Václav Drbol, Catholic priests executed in 1953 following a staged communist trial. Players download the game to their mobile devices and navigate the streets of Brno while evading the clutches of the former State Security (StB). The game centers on the challenge of saving innocent lives while avoiding capture by the secret police. “Unvanquished” serves as a historical reminder of the religious persecution that occurred under the communist regime in Czechoslovakia. The game’s release coincides with remembrance of the priests' martyrdom. Developers hope the interactive experience will educate players about this dark chapter in Czech history.
