A new campaign launched by the European Commission’s Representation in the Czech Republic aims to connect European Union policies with everyday Czech citizens. The initiative features ordinary people – including a librarian and a wheelchair-bound floorball player – wearing blue hoodies emblazoned with the EU flag in public spaces, such as on posters in public transport. The campaign, dubbed “Hoodie 2.0,” seeks to counter the perception of the EU as a distant bureaucracy issuing regulations from Brussels. Instead, it highlights the tangible benefits the EU provides to individuals across the country. Organizers hope to demonstrate the EU’s relevance by showcasing its impact on the lives of Czechs from all walks of life. The effort intends to personalize the EU and foster a stronger sense of connection between citizens and the union.
