A crucial environmental impact assessment (EIA) has been approved for a bypass around the village of Vrchy in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. The project, overseen by the Roads and Motorways Directorate (ŘSD), aims to alleviate heavy traffic on the frequently congested and often impassable I/57 road, particularly during winter. The new route will run between Fulnek and Vrchy, straddling the Nový Jičín and Opava districts. While the EIA approval is a significant step forward, concerns remain regarding the specific route of the bypass. The completed project promises to improve traffic flow and provide a safer passage for cyclists, freeing up the current road for alternative use. This development represents an important infrastructure improvement for the region.
