Czech state-owned brewery Budějovický Budvar is in talks to open a smaller brewery and restaurant in Baku, Azerbaijan. The project, confirmed by Agriculture Minister Martin Šebestyán, aims to promote Czech beer culture in a market with currently low beer consumption. Budvar anticipates a relatively small-scale operation, producing only a few thousand hectoliters of beer annually. Brewery director Petr Dvořák indicated this is the current scope being considered. The initiative seeks to introduce and cultivate an appreciation for Czech brewing traditions in Azerbaijan. This expansion represents a potential new market for the renowned Czech brewery.
