Cyprus has formally lodged a complaint with the United Nations regarding what it claims were 520 violations of its airspace by Turkish military aircraft and naval vessels. The alleged breaches occurred between March and May, according to a letter from Cypriot Permanent Representative to the UN, Maria Michael, addressed to Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The complaint details instances of Turkish forces entering both Cypriot airspace and territorial waters. Cyprus maintains these actions represent a breach of international law and a threat to regional stability. Turkey has not yet publicly responded to the allegations. The complaint was reported by the Cyprus Mail and highlights ongoing tensions between the two nations regarding maritime and airspace boundaries. This is not the first time Cyprus has raised concerns with the UN regarding similar alleged violations.
