A dog was successfully rescued from a four-meter-deep underground channel in the Santiago district of Cusco, Peru. The rescue operation was initiated after a local resident reported hearing the animal’s barking coming from within the subterranean structure. Authorities, aided by concerned neighbors, worked to extract the dog in a complex operation. The dog was found to be in good health following the rescue. The operation involved ropes, flashlights, and picks to safely reach and retrieve the animal. Video footage of the rescue has been widely circulated.
