The largest forest fire in the history of the Czech Republic remains unsolved regarding its perpetrator. The High Court in Prague on Wednesday definitively acquitted Jiří Lobotka, a former volunteer nature warden, of intentionally starting the fire in Českém Švýcarsku (Czech Switzerland). The courts determined there was no evidence to support Lobotka’s guilt. The verdict is final and cannot be appealed. This decision concludes the legal proceedings against Lobotka concerning the devastating blaze. The cause of the fire in Českém Švýcarsku remains undetermined, despite the extensive investigation. The fire caused significant damage to the landscape of Českém Švýcarsku.
