Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested two individuals in Kadamtali, Dhaka, with a large amount of counterfeit currency and equipment used for its production. The arrestees have been identified as Mohammad Shahab Uddin, 43, and Hajera Akter Ritu, 30. The arrests took place late Sunday night, around 12:30 AM on July 27th. Authorities confirmed the operation through the DMP media wing. The seized counterfeit money totaled approximately 2 lakh taka (approximately $1,870 USD). This bust represents a significant disruption to a counterfeiting operation within the capital city. Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of their network and activities.
