La Sabana University Clinic in Colombia has established a Center of Excellence dedicated to treating hip fractures in older adults. Initiated in 2024, the center has already treated 115 patients. A primary goal of the new center is to reduce hospital stay durations for patients recovering from this common and serious injury. Hip fractures pose a significant risk to the elderly population, often leading to complications and decreased quality of life. The clinic’s specialized approach aims to improve patient outcomes and accelerate recovery. This initiative represents a commitment to enhanced geriatric care within the Colombian healthcare system. The center hopes to become a leading facility for hip fracture treatment in the region.
