Torrential rains and subsequent flooding have prompted emergency responses across multiple regions in China. Eighteen cities and 70 districts have activated emergency mechanisms due to the severe weather conditions. Authorities have evacuated approximately 36,000 people from high-risk zones to ensure their safety. Five provinces – Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Guizhou, and Yunnan – are currently under an orange alert, the second-highest level in China’s four-tier warning system. The alerts signal a high probability of significant disruption and potential danger from the ongoing heavy rainfall and flooding. The situation remains fluid as authorities continue to monitor the weather and provide assistance to affected areas.
