China has opened a new air force support and training centre in Laos, according to the Chinese Ministry of Defence. The facility, located at the Ban Keun Airport, comprises the China-Laos Joint Support and Training Centre and the China-Laos Friendship Aviation Academy. The centre is intended to enhance the Laotian Air Force’s capabilities by providing pilot training. Both China and Laos will jointly manage and operate the newly established institutions.
