A certificate intended to protect children in the Czech Republic by preventing individuals with a history of abuse from working with them is facing challenges. The certificate would be required for anyone seeking to work with children, aiming to prevent cases like that of “Mr. Train,” a man twice convicted of raping a child who founded the "Children's Paradise of Railways" association in Liberec. He subsequently used this association to sexually abuse and rape minors. Legislators are now considering changes to the certificate system to strengthen its effectiveness. The goal is to make it more difficult for individuals who have harmed children in the past to gain access to them. This measure seeks to safeguard vulnerable children and prevent future exploitation. The new regulations are expected to take effect from January.
