Changi Airport is enhancing accessibility for transfer passengers with mobility issues by introducing autonomous wheelchairs. Initially, up to 18 of these self-navigating wheelchairs will be stationed at Terminals 2 and 3. The wheelchairs aim to provide independent movement for passengers who have difficulty walking long distances between connecting flights. This deployment marks a step towards leveraging technology to improve the travel experience for all. Passengers will be able to use the wheelchairs to navigate the terminals without needing assistance from airport staff. The initiative is expected to reduce wait times for assistance and offer increased convenience. Further details on accessing and operating the wheelchairs will be released by Changi Airport Authority.
