Vietnamese police have dismantled a criminal network involved in the theft and trade of cats, many of whom were intended for sale as meat. The operation resulted in the recovery of over 40 cats returned to their owners. Authorities discovered a total of more than 400 live cats and 80 deceased cats stored in freezers during the raid. The Humane World for Animals reported the news, highlighting the disturbing practice of cat theft for consumption. The police investigation successfully disrupted the illegal trade and prevented further harm to the animals. This bust underscores the ongoing issue of animal welfare and illegal wildlife trade within the region.
