Vietnamese police have dismantled a criminal network involved in the theft and trade of cats for human consumption. Authorities recovered over 400 live cats and 80 deceased cats stored in freezers during a raid. More than 40 cats have been successfully reunited with their owners, according to Humane World for Animals. The operation targeted a gang specializing in stealing pets to supply a demand for cat meat. The recovered animals were being held in conditions suggesting preparation for sale as food.
