Casablanca’s new cruise terminal is bracing for a slow summer season with limited scheduled stops in July and August. Despite the recent investment in infrastructure, cruise lines are currently favoring the Eastern Mediterranean for summer itineraries, planning routes up to two years in advance. Industry experts suggest it will take two to three years to develop a robust cruise tourism ecosystem in Casablanca. Current limitations include a shortage of qualified guides, sufficient transportation like tour buses, and tailored services for cruise passengers. Operators and the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) acknowledge the need for time to build this supporting infrastructure. The situation was anticipated, with growth dependent on establishing a mature tourism network.
