Cameroon’s Special Fund for Equipment and Intercommunal Intervention (FEICOM) has launched a second call for projects aimed at bolstering the climate resilience of local communities. Following the successful funding of 56 initial projects, FEICOM’s Climate Window seeks to strengthen defenses against increasing floods, landslides, and droughts. This new initiative will prioritize four key sectors: forests and biodiversity, energy mix, waste management, and water and sanitation infrastructure. The call for projects is open to municipalities, groupings of municipalities, and urban communities with resilient project proposals. A key innovation allows communities facing similar risks to collaborate on intercommunal or interregional projects for a more coordinated response. FEICOM aims to accelerate climate action and enhance the ability of Cameroonian territories to adapt to the challenges of a changing climate.
