Cameroon’s water utility, Camwater, has increased drinking water production capacity in Yaoundé by reactivating a third pumping unit at the Akomnyada plant. This upgrade brings the plant’s total production capacity to nearly 130,000 cubic meters. The move aims to address growing demand and improve water access for residents of the capital. This enhancement to the Akomnyada facility signifies Camwater’s ongoing efforts to strengthen water infrastructure nationwide. The increased output will contribute to a more reliable and consistent water supply. Residents are expected to benefit from improved service as a result of this investment. Camwater continues to modernize its facilities to meet the needs of a rapidly urbanizing population.
