Trade between Cameroon and the United Kingdom is experiencing significant growth, reaching £339 million – a 10.1% increase year-on-year, with British imports from Cameroon accounting for £225 million (+22.3%). British investments in Cameroon currently stand at £98 million, also up 10.1% in 2024. To capitalize on this positive trend, Cameroon's capital, Yaoundé, and London are preparing for a Cameroonian economic mission to the United Kingdom in December. The initiative, driven by the British side, seeks to translate institutional dialogue into tangible business opportunities. Cameroon’s Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, discussed preparations with the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E. Matthew David Woods, on September 7, 2026. The focus will be on attracting companies, economic interest groups, and public institutions with projects needing funding, technology, and industrial partnerships, focusing on sectors like energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and agro-industry. This mission will leverage the Cameroon-United Kingdom Economic Partnership Agreement, enacted after Brexit, which ensures duty-free and quota-free access to the British market for eligible Cameroonian products.
