Cameroon’s Investment Promotion Agency (API) has signed agreements totaling over 20.5 billion FCFA (approximately $33.4 million USD) with six companies across key sectors including agro-industry, manufacturing, industry, and tourism. These agreements, consisting of four new investment conventions and two amendments, are projected to generate 424 direct jobs within the country. The companies involved include Société Camerounaise de l’Alvéole (SOCAAL), New Engineering Technologie Industrie and Construction (NETIC), Complexe Industriel Majo du Cameroun (SOCIMC), and Peace Residence Ressort. Amendments were also made to existing agreements with Résidence Hôtelière Nzakou and Saligny SARL, extending investment phases. The API states these investments demonstrate a renewed confidence in Cameroon’s economic prospects and its commitment to improving the business climate. These initiatives aim to bolster private sector contributions to economic growth and employment opportunities in Cameroon.
