Cameroon’s government will reduce its subsidy for domestic gas consumption to 48.96 billion CFA francs in 2025, a decrease of 3.64 billion from the previous year’s 52.6 billion. Despite this 6.92% reduction, the 2025 subsidy remains higher than the 42.5 billion francs allocated in 2023. The Price Stabilization Fund for Hydrocarbons (CSPH) fully covered the gas subsidy, earning praise from the board of directors during a June 24th meeting in Yaoundé. The meeting assessed CSPH’s 2025 performance and approved the financial statements as of December 31, 2025. National fuel supplies remained consistent throughout 2025, although consumption of land fuels increased by 4% and domestic gas consumption rose significantly by 13%. CSPH’s net assets totaled 170.283 billion CFA francs, with net profits reaching 7.13 billion CFA francs.
