The Société camerounaise des dépôts pétroliers (Scdp) in Cameroon has warned it can no longer fulfill fuel requests from the Délégation générale à la sûreté nationale (Dgsn). The Scdp reports a debt of 204,887,493 FCFA and depleted security stocks due to significant fuel withdrawals—11,543,613 liters of gasoline and 11,221,664 liters of diesel—through July 2026. This situation is causing concern within the Cameroonian administration, highlighting structural and cash flow issues impacting the Dgsn's ability to maintain essential reserves for emergencies. The Scdp is requesting repayment for the consumed fuel and formal designation of authorized personnel to sign withdrawal documents. The Minister of Water and Energy has alerted the presidency, seeking alternatives to resolve the critical fuel supply issues. The depletion of security stocks is raising anxieties about the Dgsn's operational capacity and overall national security in Cameroon.
