Cambodia’s electricity prices have remained stable despite increasing global energy costs, according to Minister of Mines and Energy Keo Rottanak. This resilience is attributed to the nation’s growing investment in renewable energy sources, specifically hydropower and solar power. The minister highlighted these sources as key to shielding the Cambodian economy from the impacts of fluctuating oil prices. Cambodia has been actively diversifying its energy mix to reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels. This strategic shift has proven beneficial in maintaining economic stability amidst international energy market disruptions. Further development of renewable energy infrastructure remains a priority for the country’s long-term energy security and economic growth. The minister discussed this during an interview with CNA’s Roland Lim.
