Prime Minister Hun Manet recently visited the Khnong Phsar community-based ecotourism site in Kampong Speu province to support its development. The visit included the provision of first-aid equipment intended to improve visitor safety at the Rolak Kang Cheung Community Protected Area. This initiative forms part of a broader strategy to bolster sustainable tourism and empower local communities through ecotourism ventures. Ministry of Environment spokesperson Khvay Atitya highlighted the area’s ecological significance. The government aims to foster self-reliance within these communities by providing resources for safe and responsible tourism. This approach emphasizes equipping locals with the tools to benefit directly from, and sustainably manage, their natural resources. The project seeks to balance economic growth with environmental preservation.
