Details have emerged regarding the murder of British politician Ann Widdecombe, revealing the attack was captured on camera. Prosecutors stated footage shows the suspect striking Widdecombe 21 times with a hammer. The 78-year-old was found dead at her home in Haytor earlier this month, initially prompting the arrest and subsequent release of a 26-year-old man. Joshua Kerry, 28, has since been arrested and charged, with evidence including doorbell and hallway camera footage placing him at the scene. The footage allegedly depicts Kerry entering Widdecombe’s home, demanding her bank cards and ID, and then attacking her. Authorities determined she died from a head trauma, and a hammer with Widdecombe’s DNA was found in Kerry’s bins. Police are investigating potential political or terrorist motives for the crime; Widdecombe was a long-serving Conservative MP and former minister.
