Republika Srpska’s Constitutional Court has ruled against a request from the Bosniak Club of Delegates concerning a declaration advocating for the closure of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bosniak Club argued the declaration violated their vital national interest. The court deemed the request unacceptable, effectively upholding the declaration’s validity within the entity. This decision pertains to a declaration adopted by the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska, signaling continued opposition to the OHR’s presence. The OHR was established as part of the Dayton Peace Agreement to oversee civilian implementation of the agreement. This ruling underscores ongoing political tensions regarding international oversight in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the future of the OHR. The Sarajevo Times first reported the court’s decision.
