A nine-year-old Bangladeshi child was returned by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Saturday night after being sent back by Indian authorities earlier in the day. The incident occurred at the Nazirhat border in Kurigram’s Fulbari upazila. Reports indicate the child crossed the border into India with their parents following a disagreement at home. A flag meeting between border forces from both countries facilitated the child’s repatriation around midnight. The situation involved a “push-in, push-back” scenario, indicating the child was initially pushed into India before being sent back. This incident highlights ongoing border complexities and the vulnerability of children in cross-border disputes. The child has now been reunited with family.
