The Bombay High Court has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of Disha Salian, a former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The order came in response to a plea filed by Salian’s father, who alleged foul play in her death and expressed dissatisfaction with the initial police investigation. Salian died in June 2020, with police ruling it a suicide. Her father, however, has maintained that her death was the result of coercion and sexual assault. The High Court acknowledged discrepancies in the investigation and the need for a more thorough examination of the case. This decision marks a significant development in the ongoing scrutiny surrounding the circumstances of Salian and Rajput’s deaths, both of which occurred within a short timeframe. The CBI will now take over the investigation and potentially revisit key evidence.
