Dutch online retailers Bol and de Bijenkorf have warned customers of a potential data leak stemming from a cyberattack on their logistics partner, CEVA Logistics. The breach may have compromised personal data, including names, addresses, postal codes, and phone numbers of an as-yet-undetermined number of customers. While Bol’s and de Bijenkorf’s own systems remain unaffected, the incident impacts order fulfillment from one of Bol’s distribution centers and may cause delays or cancellations. CEVA Logistics notified Bol of the possible breach on August 1st, and Bol subsequently informed the Dutch Data Protection Authority on August 3rd. Currently, there is no indication that payment details, passwords, or login credentials were accessed during the cyberattack. Both companies have initiated an external investigation to determine the scope and consequences of the incident, and are contacting potentially affected customers.
