A memorial is planned for Tuesday at the Homomonument in Amsterdam to show support for the victims and families affected by the Pride attack in Berlin. The attack occurred when a van drove into Pride participants near Potsdamer Platz, resulting in one fatality and 29 injuries. The 21-year-old suspect was later shot and killed by police after attempting to attack officers with a weapon, following a day-long manhunt. In solidarity, the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin was illuminated with rainbow colors, a symbol of the LGBTQ+ community. Amsterdam is currently hosting WorldPride, and people are encouraged to lay flowers and candles at the Homomonument. A commemorative gathering will take place at 8:00 PM, featuring speeches from Dutch-German influencers present during the attack, alongside a moment of silence held at the Milkshake festival.
