Belgrade police have arrested V.J. on suspicion of fraud, following an investigation by the Department for Combating Economic Crime. Authorities allege that from 2022, the suspect defrauded individuals out of 2.2 million Serbian dinars. The scheme involved taking orders and payments for air conditioning units without intending to deliver them. The arrest was made following a directive from the public prosecutor of the First Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade. The investigation was conducted by officers from the Belgrade Police Administration and the Criminal Police Directorate. Further legal proceedings against V.J. are expected as the case develops. The suspect is accused of misleading customers into believing their orders would be fulfilled.
