Polish authorities have detained two Belarusian men, aged 33 and 37, in connection with the fatal shooting of Russian performance artist and Putin critic, Semjon Skrepetski. The incident occurred in Biala Podlaska, near the Belarusian border, with Skrepetski reportedly shot multiple times – twice initially, then three more times in the head, chest, and back. Investigations are ongoing to determine if additional suspects were involved and the extent of the detainees’ direct participation in the shooting. Reports from a Belarusian Telegram channel suggest multiple perpetrators and potential involvement of a taxi driver who allegedly fled to the Belarusian consulate, though authorities haven’t confirmed this. The men were arrested near the consulate but have not yet been charged. Skrepetski, who relocated to Poland from Russia in 2021, was known for performances critical of Putin, Lukashenko, the war in Ukraine, and Chechen leader Kadyrov.
