Bangladesh’s foreign policy is currently focused on diversifying diplomatic ties and maintaining strategic balance, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman stated in Parliament. The nation aims to strengthen relationships with traditional partners including the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, China, the Middle East, Canada, and Australia. Simultaneously, Bangladesh is actively engaging with ASEAN member states, as well as East and Central Asian countries, to broaden its international network. This approach signifies a move towards a more multifaceted foreign policy strategy. The Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining equilibrium in its relationships with major global powers. This diversification is intended to support Bangladesh’s national interests and enhance its position on the international stage. The policy reflects a commitment to pragmatic engagement with a wide range of countries.
