A political dispute in Gaibandha, Bangladesh, escalated into violence following the murder of Saifullah Bari, a student leader affiliated with the Islami Chhatra Shibir. The killing, reportedly stemming from a disagreement over the formation of a managing committee for a government primary school, triggered protests and retaliatory action. Demonstrators allegedly set fire to the home of a youth league leader accused in the murder. Police have arrested one individual, identified as Ashraf, in connection with the crime. The primary suspect, a youth league leader, and his accomplices are currently at large. Fire officials confirmed the incident occurred Sunday night.
