A three-day workshop commenced in Dhaka, Bangladesh, focusing on strengthening professional cooperation between the Bangladesh Police and the media. The workshop addresses key areas including freedom of expression, journalist safety, and the maintenance of public order. Organized around the theme of ensuring freedom of expression to uphold democracy and the rule of law, the event runs from June 16th to 18th at a Dhaka hotel. Discussions aim to foster a collaborative environment between law enforcement and journalists. The initiative seeks to balance media freedoms with the necessity of maintaining public safety and stability. The workshop is supported by the United Nations Electoral assistance division. It intends to create a framework for responsible reporting and effective communication between the two vital sectors.
