A new public-private partnership (PPP) model has been launched in two wards of Chittagong city, Bangladesh, to improve access to safe drinking water. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to facilitate this collaboration between the government and private entities. Finance Minister Amir Khosru stated that providing safe water is a fundamental responsibility of the government. This initiative aims to address water insecurity in the designated areas through combined resources and expertise. The PPP model is expected to enhance efficiency and sustainability in water supply services. This marks a significant step towards ensuring basic necessities for residents and potentially replicable across other regions. The project prioritizes delivering safe water to communities through innovative financing and management approaches.
