Home Minister Salah Uddin Ahmed has provided an update on the efforts to bring former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benzir Ahmed back to Bangladesh. Benzir Ahmed is currently detained in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Home Minister stated that the Bangladeshi government has already submitted the necessary legal documentation to the UAE authorities. However, no official response has been received from the UAE government regarding the repatriation process. These details were disclosed during an international event focused on combating drug abuse and trafficking. The event took place on Friday at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. The government continues to seek the return of the former police chief to face legal proceedings.
