Konstantinos Passaris, known as the “Balcan Beast,” will continue serving a life sentence in Romania after his parole request was definitively denied by the Dolj Tribunal. This decision follows a similar rejection in June by the Craiova Court. Passaris was convicted in 2003 for the murders of a cashier and security guard during a robbery. He is currently imprisoned for these crimes. The tribunal’s ruling confirms he remains a threat and doesn’t meet the criteria for early release. Passaris’s case has drawn significant attention due to the brutality of the crimes he committed and his lengthy sentence. This recent decision essentially closes the door on his immediate prospects for freedom.
